Emet’s job is to read and write the files in your Hugo repository without you having to think about them as files. This section covers the day-to-day of that: the content entries themselves, the operations you can run over many of them at once, and the other things that live alongside your content (data files, archetypes and images).
- Entries is the main one: the list, creating, editing, saving and deleting.
- Bulk actions covers renaming, moving, publishing and deleting a selection of entries in one commit.
- Data files is the editor for the YAML, JSON and TOML under
data/. - Archetypes explains how Hugo’s content templates are used when you create an entry, and how to edit them.
- Media library is where images are browsed, uploaded and picked.
- Sync explains what gets committed when on a GitHub-hosted site, and what the indicator in the header means.
- Publication is the optional working-branch-to-production workflow.
- Reviewing entries is the optional page-by-page sign-off that can hold publishing until every changed entry is approved.
If you just want to write, Entries is all you need. The rest is for the days you’re maintaining the site rather than writing for it.
